Link Expander

Where does this link lead?

Paste a short or suspicious link. We follow every redirect on our side and show the final address with its page details, so you never click blind.

10 of 10 checks left today

A short link says nothing about where it takes you. Behind one tidy address there can be a whole chain of redirects, and the last stop is sometimes a page you would never open on purpose.

The expander walks that chain for you. You get every hop with its status code, the final address, and the page's own title and description. The link never touches your browser until you decide to open it.

Free checks are limited to 10 per day per visitor. If the final page hides its content behind scripts, the reader shows what the server returned.

How the expander works

Our server opens the address you paste and follows every redirect it answers with, the way a browser would, but without running the page. Each hop is recorded with its status code, so a 301, a 302 and a 307 are told apart. At the end it reads the title and the description of the final page. Tick the screenshot option and it also takes a picture of that page for you.

What to look at in the result

Start with the last address in the chain: that is where the link really goes. Compare it with the domain of the short link and with what the sender promised. A chain that passes through three or four unrelated domains is a tracking chain. A final title that has nothing to do with the link text is a reason to stop. When the page redirects with a script instead of a header, the reader shows what the server itself returned.

What stays on our side

The request goes out from our server, not from your browser. The destination sees a visit from anonym.es, not your address, your language or the page you were on. Nothing is downloaded to your device until you open the final address yourself. Free checks are limited to 10 a day per visitor, so the tool stays fast for everyone.
